Not Without You

174 Yeas and Zero Nays; We’re Adding Blaine!

The business meeting held with Eagle Brook members on Saturday night, October 3, was another in a long list of completed steps on the way to Blaine!  As someone who doesn’t mind the idea of a business meeting, there’s never a dull moment for me (I know…geek), but I can say that this one was pretty amazing.

I gave an overview of the project for Blaine. Our current plans include leasing and renovating a commercial building for an Eagle Brook Blaine campus (likely to be located off of 35 W and 95th Ave NE).  It was great to see so much engagement by the members. They asked questions that were thoughtful and insightful.

Then, after the Q&A time, it was time for the vote. The vote was taken to gain approval for the necessary steps to develop a Blaine campus, and to obtain appropriate financing. We made the decision to cast a paper vote for this one because we wanted people who might feel pressure to be able to be completely honest, which made it all the more amazing that 174 people cast ‘yes’ votes and nobody cast a ‘no’ vote.  NOBODY.  I remain amazed at the unique group of people that God has assembled here. From our staff to our members and attenders, He has prepared us for what lies ahead.
